Bug description:
If I start the computer, and choose a unity session, I can't switch
  users.

When I try to use the menu to select a new user, the screen goes
blank. If I touch the mouse, it just shows the locked screen for the
  current user.

By contrast, If I choose a gnome session to begin with, I can switch
users. However, if the new user starts a unity session, they also
won't be able to use the menu on the top right of unity, to switch
  back to the other session.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1057841] Re: After logging into unity or gnome classic, I can't switch users. Goes to lock screen. Using GDM

2012-10-05 Thread Tim
gdm has dropped gdmflexiserver, which is why there is no switch user
button on the gnome-screensaver login dialog.

Title:
After logging into unity or gnome classic, I can't switch users. Goes
  to lock screen. Using GDM

Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “indicator-session” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
If I start the computer, and choose a unity session, I can't switch
  users.

When I try to use the menu to select a new user, the screen goes
blank. If I touch the mouse, it just shows the locked screen for the
  current user.

By contrast, If I choose a gnome session to begin with, I can switch
users. However, if the new user starts a unity session, they also
won't be able to use the menu on the top right of unity, to switch
  back to the other session.

I am using GDM and Quantal.
