  Can't add a parallel printer

Status in HP Linux Imaging and Printing:
  Fix Committed
Status in “hplip” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
I apologize for being brief but all necessary details are here:

  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=699052

and the workaround is the same (see comment #17): Remove libsane-hpaio
and lpinfo -v will start reporting your parallel ports (connected to a
HP-printer). In my case, the connected printer was a HP LaserJet 6P.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1065582] Re: Can't add a parallel printer

2012-10-11 Thread Till Kamppeter
As this is also observed under Red Hat Linux this is most probably an
upstream bug. I add the appropriate upstream task.

Can someone of the HPLIP developers at HP have a look into this?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1065582] Re: Can't add a parallel printer

2012-10-11 Thread Till Kamppeter
Tim, can you attach the patch of your HPLIP package of the Red Hat bug
report from the original description, comment #21 to this bug report?
This would make it easier for the upstream developers to fix this bug.
Thanks.
