Title:
Low Graphics Mode Using Mini DisplayPort On Dell XPS L502x

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I use an external monitor connected to my Dell XPS L502x laptop via
the Mini DisplayPort. 99% of the time this results in:-

The System is running in low-graphics mode

This Error is appearing at boot-up before login screen I then get a
set of options to select such as reconfigure, troubleshoot etc but I
have no cursor or keyboard control to select them.

If I restart the laptop the same error appears until I disconnect the
Mini DisplayPort cable and reconnecting again at the login screen,
this happens virtually every time with the cable connected. Had no
problems with this bug when using Ubuntu 12.04

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1069901] Re: Low Graphics Mode Using Mini DisplayPort On Dell XPS L502x

2014-01-06 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Ellwyn C., this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

I'm using 13.04, but had same problems with 12.10. I think 12.04 worked
well. No I'm using my VGA cable again, haha.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1069901] Re: Low Graphics Mode Using Mini DisplayPort On Dell XPS L502x

2013-04-27 Thread ninsky
Have the same problem with Lenovo Thinkpad T430s with Intel HD4000. I
use the Lenovo's mini display port to attach a new Dell TFT display
(normal display port) on it.

Title:
Low Graphics Mode Using Mini DisplayPort On Dell XPS L502x

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  New
