For anyone following, the referenced patch is not available in kernel 3.8. 3.11 does contain the patch. However, after upgrading, analog capture still does not work. Instead, on switching capture channels, I see capture write error (DMA or IRQ trouble?) in dmesg and the capture application either exits or hangs. Yet no app receives input sound. All applications are instead able to receive input sound, if I set as source the webcam mic. Sound output from analog stereo out is fine.
