[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1102044] Re: Jawi support
Thanks for contributing this enhancement, Muhammad. One of us will review when we get a chance. Meantime, I would recommend also sending this patch upstream (to freedesktop.org). ** Changed in: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Canonical X.org (canonical-x) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1102044 Title: Jawi support Status in “xkeyboard-config” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi, I am the new maintainer of Jawi keyboard layout support (Jawi is a type of script that looks like arabic that is commonly used for Malay language in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia) and we have a problem with having to repair the keyboard whenever evdev.xml is overridden. Our propose if to have the patch with the distribution (or updates) for evdev.xml in Ubuntu so that we do not need to keep repairing with our own scripts when evdev.xml is overriden and it will look a lot cleaner in the system. If our patch is accepted, we do not need to have to maintain the scripts and on the worse-case scenario, we would have to maintain the ms symbol only. Thank you for reading. Character va (Unicode U+06CF, character U06CF) needs to be updated to reflect the other arabic typeface.
