[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1102960] Re: dia crashes on startup

2013-04-08 Thread Juan Calderin
#11 solves the problem for me as well. With a fresh Raring Ringtail install and
a new Dia install, the persistence file is not in the .dia folder. Adding the
one from #11 works.
Thank you! :)

2013-03-01 Thread Jérôme Poulin
Fix #7 works, if and only if, persistence already exists, I attached my
Archlinux Dia config file and it works with it.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1102960] Re: dia crashes on startup

2013-02-26 Thread Jolanda Verhoef
Fix #7 doesn't work here.
With a fresh install of Dia, the directory {HOME}/.dia/ doesn't contain a file
called persistence. It only contains directories objects, shapes, sheets (all
empty). Creating the file myself and inserting the xml doesn't work.
Any other suggestions?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1102960] Re: dia crashes on startup

2013-02-18 Thread Marc Deslauriers
This is actually an issue with pygtk and recent glib versions:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/pygtk/+bug/1129309

Leaving this bug open for now, as a possible solution is to port dia to
gtk3

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1102960] Re: dia crashes on startup

2013-02-18 Thread fsando
A work around: look for this entry in $(HOME)/.dia/persistence

  dia:boolean role=view_antialised

from Dia developer Hans Breuer:
You can work around it by not using the DiaGdkRenderer for display rendering.
WIth a useable user interface edit the configuration file
$(HOME)/.dia/persistence to include:

  dia:boolean role=view_antialised
dia:attribute name=booleanvalue
  dia:boolean val=true/
/dia:attribute
  /dia:boolean

i.e. make the antialiased rendering default. And please don't use the
View/AntiAliased menu item to toggle the renderer later, because that would
trigger the crash again.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1102960] Re: dia crashes on startup

2013-02-08 Thread Daniel Dietrich
Still happens with up to date raring packages.
After starting Dia, one sees its window for about one second and then it
crashes.
Yes, it's still possible to run Dia from the command line, but it's barely
usable from there, as most functions are missing. Please fix this bug for the
final version, as I would say it's critical.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1102960] Re: dia crashes on startup

2013-01-25 Thread James Hunt
Interestingly, since this issue is GUI related, it is still possible to
run dia without one:

$ dia --nosplash -t svg -e output.svg input.dia
