[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1170987] Re: xscreensaver activates after logging in
** Changed in: xscreensaver (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xscreensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170987 Title: xscreensaver activates after logging in Status in “xscreensaver” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Under certain conditions, Xscreensaver activates after a regular login thus requiring login credentials a second time in Lubuntu. When I switch users in LXDE and then log out of the second user I get the login screen, as expected. Then when I enter the login credentials for the first user, the next thing I am greeted with is Xscreensaver's login. So I actually need to log in twice, in two different ways, to get back to the original session. This happens even if I am only out of the original user's desktop for a few seconds. I would expect that the login screen should get me fully back to my original desktop without needing to enter the password a second time at the Xscreensaver. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1170987] Re: xscreensaver activates after logging in
amjjawad woke up today with a massive feeling to report bugs and check old ones whether they got fixed or not :D Indeed, this bug affects me as well. It is quite easy to produce it: 1- Menu System Tools Users and Groups 2- Create a new user 3- Menu Log out Switch User 4- Login to your new user which you just created 5- Log out and go back to your main user 6- You will be greeted by xscreensaver :D Thanks! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xscreensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170987 Title: xscreensaver activates after logging in Status in “xscreensaver” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Under certain conditions, Xscreensaver activates after a regular login thus requiring login credentials a second time in Lubuntu. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1170987] Re: xscreensaver activates after logging in
This bug affects me as well, but the actions triggering it are different, in my case. I have several different partitions on my machine, and whenever I boot one of the other partitions, the next time I boot the Lubuntu partition (LXDE), immediately after logging-in (and after the desktop appears), XScreensaver activates, and I have to re-enter my password into XScreensaver, after which the desktop re-appears, and everything is fine. I am using Lubuntu 12.10.
