[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1179070] Re: nm-applet show wrong characters on CDMA broadband connection and sometimes crash.

2013-06-22 Thread prahlad
I'm having the same issue on raring (amd64). The first time, it connects
and shows the correct name of the mobile networkid ("Tata Photon+"), but
when I reconnnect it displays random weird names such as "Label Empty",
"CDMA" or even "" (nothing at all). On the second/third connection
attempt, the nm-applet crashes sincerely! Have you found any resolution
yet ?

Title:
nm-applet show wrong characters on CDMA broadband connection and
  sometimes crash.

Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
instead of showing the name of connection (Romtelecom) , it shows "not
enabled, label empty, EVDO," and when i try to connect or disconnect, applet
just disappears. it reappears if i logout and log back in.
when first plug in the modem, the name is shown right. the problem appears
while it is connected.
it seems like an utf-8 error.

on wireless or wired it does not happen.
