Public bug reported: Hi,
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.2 with Gnome Classic / Gnome Panel and LightDM + Unity Greeter on AMD64. The recent update of LightDM from 1.2.3-0ubuntu2 to 1.2.3-0ubuntu2.1 left me with a command line login prompt after boot. It turned out that LightDM will start neither Unity-Greeter nor LightDM-Gtk-Greeter. I still can manually start X and then Gnome-Panel but the desktop behaviour is not without errors. I had to remove both lightdm_1.2.3-0ubuntu2.1 and liblightdm- gobject-1-0_1.2.3-0ubuntu2.1 and replace the packages by the previous versions (2 instead of 2.1), which restored full login and desktop funtionality. Any suggestions?! ** Affects: lightdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: broken greeter lightdm update -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181983 Title: Update to 1.2.3-0ubuntu2.1: Broken / Greeter won't start Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi, I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.2 with Gnome Classic / Gnome Panel and LightDM + Unity Greeter on AMD64.
