(i think i got it back after an gdm update a while ago)i can switch to terminal and login as my user. i have tried a lot of things, tried to switch graphical display manager, tried to reinstall stuff like ubuntu-desktop and so on. When i run Recovery Mode, and try boot up in faillsafe graphics i get the message to choose what settings to use. (something like reset settings, summary of error ..) Hey and thank your for your fast reply How can i remove the directly installed driver? It looks like you tried to install the nvidia driver directly (not a good idea).
