i tried to make an A0 poster with the writer the other day and was thus
forced to use large images (up to 10000 pixels wide). one small
iritating bug made the waiting for page refreshes even more annoying:
when the view zoom is switched in "fit width & height" mode the zoom
factors while cursor is in the text and when one clicks on a image is
different, resulting in waiting for page refreshes each time (in my case
it was almost 30 sec). all other modes of the zoom dialog don't exhibit
this behaviour.

how to reproduce: open attached file. select View|Zoom|Fit width and
height, click OK. now click somewhere in text and observe the zoom
factor given in % in the lower right corner. in my case it's 107%. now
click on the image of slavoj zizek and the zoom factor switches to 103%,
triggering a totally unnecessary redraw of the window. if it happens you
have large images embedded, this can take ages...
