cpina, thank you for reporting this and trying to help make Ubuntu better.

Title:
python-loader:type 'exceptions.ImportError':No module named
pythonloader
Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Summary:
System version: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS, Release 12.04
Package: libreoffice . Version: 1:4.1.0-0ubuntu1-precise1~ppa1
Expected to happen: Mendeley Desktop plugin working like in previous
Libreoffice or Libreoffice from mainstream.
What happened: it fails with a python-loader error. Possible workaround:
export PYTHONPATH=/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/
Longer description and workaround:
When trying to use Mendeley Desktop Libreoffice extension (and, I see on the
Internet, other extensions) it doesn't work. Appears:
BASIC runtime error.
An exception ocurred
Type: com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException
Message: python-loader:type 'exceptions.ImportError': No module named
pythonloader, traceback follows
no traceback available
.
This can be reproduced using libreoffice version
1:4.1.0-0ubuntu1-precise1~ppa1
It's working correctly using Libreoffice from www.libreoffice.org.
A possible workaround is to launch Libreoffice this way:
export PYTHONPATH=/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/ ; libreoffice
(note that pythonloader.py is in that directory)
See a confirmation here:
https://github.com/Mendeley/openoffice-plugin/issues/11
So it fails libreoffice 4.1 PPA but not the upstream one, and there is
a workaround (too complicated for some users).
