Bug description:
  [ Impact ]

GNOME applications that use client-side decorations can't be resized
on Unity. I think it's because the frame extents hint is not
  supported.

gnome-clocks and gnome-tweak-tool are two apps in the archive that
  have this problem.

  [ Test Case ]

Run one of the abovementioned applications. Their windows should be
  resizable.

  [ Regression Potential ]

Any modifications to the Unity desktop shell could potentially
  introduce new crashes or lockups.

  [ Other Info ]

The Unity SRU fix for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS was cherry-picked from upstream
Unity, where it has been in production use in Ubuntu Vivid Vervet
dev release for some time without apparent regression.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1276177] Re: Applications using client-side decorations are not resizable in Unity

2015-01-14 Thread Chris J Arges
Hello Lars, or anyone else affected,

Accepted unity into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/7.2.4+14.04.20141217-0ubuntu1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

It seems to me that these CSD apps aren't resizable anywhere except for
Gnome Shell.
