The mouse settings does not show up for bluetooth mouse, but it does show up when a USB mouse is attached and changes there affect both the USB and the bluetooth mouse. I suggest doing a man xset to learn more about the command, but "xset m 1.3 0" is the magic number for me. The format of the command is xset m . I'm using Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 on a laptop, and until recently I didn't have speed etc. for mouse or trackpad in settings. I've just checked, and now I have trackpad speed, but still no mouse speed. I use a Logitech M515 (wireless), which remains irritatingly slow, and is unaffected by the trackpad speed setting. Plugging in a wired mouse adds a new Pointer Speed setting in a new control group called Mouse. Changing this speed setting affects both mice. @The Phone dconf-editor is the way to go. For Unity Authors Simplicity is not removing things is to make things easier... I've found the settings in dconf and am still tweaking them to my liking. This is kind of ridiculous that something as basic as slider to adjust acceleration is no longer there. I mean come on, didn't gnome 1 and windows 95 have this functionality? Also, for people who used the dconf-editor workaround, don't go into mouse settings again because that will clobber your preferences. This is an extremely newbie hostile bug.
