Hey, I am also having same machine with same configuration and having same issue with ubuntu 14.04. Hoped my problem will be sorted in this version expected much from this version. Problem persists. Hey, You are not alone. I have exactly the same laptop model and I faced exactly the same problem both in ubuntu 13.10 and ubuntu 14.04.
