[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1370245] Re: wpa_supplicant version 2.2 available

2015-08-25 Thread Vincent Gerris
just wanted to note that 2.4 seems broken, at least in Fedora for some setups
of wireless networks:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/1473088
a fix in 14.04 seems reasonable, maybe by upgrading to 2.3 if possible.

Currently version 2.1 is still the version slated to be shipped with

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1370245] Re: wpa_supplicant version 2.2 available

2015-08-03 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Closing as fix released. I landed wpa 2.4 in wily.

As for wpasupplicant, closing as Won't Fix. Precise has an old
wpasupplicant version but it's unlikely to get feature releases given
the number of differences between versions.

** Changed in: wpasupplicant (Ubuntu)
   Status: Confirmed = Won't Fix

2015-07-21 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
On Ubuntu 14.04 and later releases, it looks like wpa_supplicant is
built from the wpa source package, so I've marked that as also affected.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1370245] Re: wpa_supplicant version 2.2 available

2015-01-25 Thread Dennis-martin-herbers
I tracked down the issue where WiFi would fail after suspend in that it
doesn't associate anymore (tries to connect but fails), and it's a bug
in wpa-supplicant that was fixed in the current version (Ubuntu uses
2.1, newest is 2.3). Replacing Ubuntu's wpa-supplicant 2.1 with Debian's
wpa-supplicant 2.3 and rebooting immediately fixed the issue.

https://packages.debian.org/sid/wpasupplicant

There are a lot of issues related to this that would be fixed by the new
upstream release.
