[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1574658] Re: Unity froze while moving files with Nautilus
[Expired for nautilus (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574658 Title: Unity froze while moving files with Nautilus Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Expired Status in unity package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: This is related with this report : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1574598 I post the syslog but I don't know if there is usable data in it. It seems the Unity crash happened around line : "Apr 25 13:34:18 fractal org.gnome.Nautilus[1030]: Gtk-Message: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged." This line is followed by unknown symbols (GEdit displays an error message), then by a computer restart and file system restore. I did a cut/paste on one or two folders, containing around 1000 JPG images, from and to the same disk. Unity froze almost instantly (can't switch to TTY or do anything). After some time I turned off computer with hardware button and restarted it. After logging in Unity I found that the files had been correctly moved. It seems the issue is triggered by Nautilus, cause yesterday Nautilus was stuck while moving same kind of files, but Unity was still working and I was able to kill Nautilus. * Ubuntu Version $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Release: 16.04 * Nautilus Version $ apt-cache policy nautilus nautilus: Installé : 1:3.18.4.is.3.14.3-0ubuntu4 Candidat : 1:3.18.4.is.3.14.3-0ubuntu4 Table de version : *** 1:3.18.4.is.3.14.3-0ubuntu4 500 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status * Unity version $ apt-cache policy unity unity: Installé : 7.4.0+16.04.20160415-0ubuntu1 Candidat : 7.4.0+16.04.20160415-0ubuntu1 Table de version : *** 7.4.0+16.04.20160415-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1574658/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

This is unlikely to be a unity bug. I'll mark it as invalid. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1574658] Re: Unity froze while moving files with Nautilus
Hi, I don't know if this is related to Unity, I followed an advice on Nautilus bug report. I made the cut/paste with shortcuts ctrl+x/ctrl+v. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574658 Title: Unity froze while moving files with Nautilus Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in unity package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: This is related with this report : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1574598 I post the syslog but I don't know if there is usable data in it. If you cant'even switch to tty I doubt it's a unity problem. How did you perform the cut/paste?
