Marking as Invalid because the release is EOL is not correct. Marking as Incomplete. Also, 18.04 is (at the time of writing) still in development, and you should expect some breakage. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Release_has_reached_End_of_Life_.28EOL.29 Reporter, is this still present on 17.10 or 16.04? ** Changed in: sane-backends (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to sane-backends in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1688128 Title: package sane-utils 1.0.25+git20150528-1ubuntu2.16.10.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127 Status in sane-backends package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Seems that sane pkg which was automatically downloaded is for 17.04, but I am running 16.10 ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10 Package: sane-utils 1.0.25+git20150528-1ubuntu2.16.10.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-51.54-generic 4.8.17 Uname: Linux 4.8.0-51-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.3-0ubuntu8.2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed May 3 17:25:02 2017 DuplicateSignature: package:sane-utils:1.0.25+git20150528-1ubuntu2.16.10.1 Setting up sane-utils (1.0.25+git20150528-1ubuntu2.16.10.1) ... /var/lib/dpkg/info/sane-utils.config: 1: /etc/default/saned: Defaults: not found dpkg: error processing package sane-utils (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127 ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-11-02 (182 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.10 "Yakkety Yak" - Release amd64 (20161012.2) RelatedPackageVersions: dpkg 1.18.10ubuntu1 apt 1.3.4 SourcePackage: sane-backends Title: package sane-utils 1.0.25+git20150528-1ubuntu2.16.10.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) mtime.conffile..etc.default.saned: 2016-11-05T19:26:43.337079 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1688128/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
