  Inserting a USB hard disk does not automount like in Ubuntu Unity.
  dconf settings are similar.

  Device is connected and can be mounted in Nautilus manually.

Do you still the issue in the current version? If so could you use the
command 'gio monitor -m', connect your device and share the log?
