3Gb after 8 hours
every action increases the usage, as described by many users

changing wallpaper increases by 40Mb each time
I had "variety" changing wallpapers every 5 minutes, that's how I got to 3Gb in 
a few hours

  12 GB of RAM, otherwise I would have lots of swap. Unity never did not
  do things like this, I really hope there will be a fix soon.
