You have been subscribed to a public bug: Ubuntu users can really benefit from an easy GUI app built-into Ubuntu that allows the user to reset the OS to factory defaults and/or wipe the entire device, similar to the built-in Recovery options Microsoft offers users in Windows 10.
There's already an app in development that works with Ubuntu called 'Resetter.' Maybe this or something like it can be implemented into the next release? https://github.com/gaining/Resetter ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.10 Package: ubuntu-desktop 1.404.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.13.0-17.20-lowlatency 4.13.8 Uname: Linux 4.13.0-17-lowlatency x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.7-0ubuntu3.5 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Mon Nov 27 23:59:04 2017 ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: ubuntu-meta UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-control-center Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: Confirmed ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug artful wayland-session -- Reset Ubuntu to Factory Defaults https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1734806 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
