[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1762726] Re: Context menu does not show on passwords fields
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1765304 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1765304 Thanks for the confirmation. The update that fixed the issue is gnome- shell 3.28.3-0ubuntu0.18.04.4. I am therefore marking this bug as a duplicate of bug #1765304. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1765304 Ubuntu 18.04's ibus package breaks password fields in Firefox (by lowering & raising window whenever they're focused) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1762726 Title: Context menu does not show on passwords fields Status in firefox package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: As many people I use a password manager in order to manage my logins. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1762726] Re: Context menu does not show on passwords fields
If the website has the option to let you see what you enter into the password field then the menu will show. Example: https://mail.protonmail.com/login Running Firefox from the terminal after unsetting GTK_IM_MODULE fixes it: $ unset GTK_IM_MODULE $ firefox Since upgrading to 18.04 I'm unable to use autotype in password managers like KeePassXC, it always enters the wrong password. I quite positive the problem with autotyping is actually caused by this same issue as it skips some characters when the password is hidden, but it do enters it correctly if the website have the option to make the field visible (like in the example above) or after unsetting GTK_IM_MODULE. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1762726 Title: Context menu does not show on passwords fields Status in firefox package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: As many people I use a password manager in order to manage my logins.
