We had several clients with HP printers that faced this problem. I seem to have a similar issue with my HP ENVY 5544. After removing ippusbxd and stopping the related service, my printer still does not print. Dmesg shows this every time I press the test page button in either HP tools or Printers (GNOME GUI): usblp1: removed So it seems the device is removed everytime it gets a command.
