Title:
Password field randomly truncates text when I type, forcing me to
  reenter the password again

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
After I updated GNOME via snap refresh, I rebooted the PC and then
clicked on my username. I entered my password the first time
incorrectly. However, when I was typing my password in the second
time, after the 5th character, the password text-field truncated that
text from the left so that only the last 4 characters would be in the
  text field.

This forced me to re-enter my password again and happens when I log
into my account immediately after boot.

The password field should not clear or truncate any input when I type
into it. The moment the text field becomes active, it should retain
all text instead of clearing it out.

2020-04-29 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Sounds like the problem might be graphical rather than behavioural...
Please:

1. Reproduce the problem again.

2. Log in and run:

   journalctl -b0 > journal.txt
   lspci -k > lspcik.txt
   dpkg -l > allpackages.txt

3. Attach the resulting text files here.

2020-04-27 Thread Seija Kijin
This is reproducible, and you have to start typing into the password
text field the moment it appears after boot.
