[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1875445] Re: Volume slider doesn't produce sound

2020-05-01 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank, for the description and the log error it looks like chrome is
doing something that confuses the sound driver, reassigning to the
kernel where the driver is provided

** Package changed: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu)

Title:
  Volume slider doesn't produce sound

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Hello,
  In Ubuntu 20.04:
After system boot there is sound and when I adjust volume with the slide (top
right corner of the screen) it produces default sound. About 10 minutes (may be
related to loading of certain s/w) later during the same session the slider
stops producing sound when I adjust volume. System sound is still present. I
also noticed that in Settings->Sound two more entries appear in "Volume
levels": 1. Speech-dispatcher-dummy; 2. Speech-dispatcher-espeak-ng. These two
entries are not present there right after system boot when everything works
fine. I also see these errors in Logs: "sof-audio-pci :00:1f.3: error: no
reply expected, received 0x0".
  This bug is reproducible.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1875445] Re: Volume slider doesn't produce sound

2020-04-29 Thread David
Hello,
I narrowed down the trigger of the bug: it happens right after I log in my
discord account(https://discordapp.com/) in Firefox (using Chromium instead of
Firefox doesn't trigger the bug).

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1875445] Re: Volume slider doesn't produce sound

2020-04-28 Thread David
Hello,
I tried to narrow down the possible triggers of the above-described bug. I
think the bug is triggered by KeePassXC - it's reproducible and happens every
time ONLY when I use Keepass to enter my credential on certain webpages in
Firefox (perhaps it has something to do with Firefox, too). As requested I
attach journalctl (only the part when the bug happens) - it really a few lines
of logs. I also attach screenshot of Settings->Sound window before the bug and
after to show additional entries of dummy adapters.
Let me know I can do anything else.
