Title:
Selected audio output always USB device as default, but no control

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
Upon login in Ubuntu 20.04, the selected audio device will always be
my USB device (in this case a Schiit Modi 3 DAC). However, the audio
will be played from my motherboard's default line-out through my
desktop speakers (the desired and last used audio device). The issue
then is that gnome and pulse audio seem to believe that the selected
device is the USB DAC, and the volume controls no longer have any
affect on the output volume. To regain control of the volume, I have
to open up the Settings panel and select the Line-out device. This
  happens on every boot.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1875912] Re: Selected audio output always USB device as default, but no control

2020-04-29 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report, it sounds similar to bug #1866194. Could
you try if moving your ~/.config/pulse directory and restarting the
session workaround the issue?

Could be useful to report it upstream on
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/issues/ if you
could

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1875912] Re: Selected audio output always USB device as default, but no control

2020-04-29 Thread Trent Roling
Follow-up - Commenting out the following lines, and setting a default
sink in /etc/pulse/default.pa has no affect:

#.ifexists module-switch-on-connect.so
#load-module module-switch-on-connect
#.endif
#load-module module-switch-on-port-available

set-default-sink alsa_output.pci-_0b_00.4.analog-stereo
