[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1901353] Re: Ubuntu Default Greyscale Wallpaper Sym Link Broken

2020-11-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package ubuntu-wallpapers -
20.10.3-0ubuntu0.20.10.1

---
ubuntu-wallpapers (20.10.3-0ubuntu0.20.10.1) groovy; urgency=medium

  * Backport to groovy.
  * Update Vcs-* fields.

ubuntu-wallpapers (20.10.3-0ubuntu1) hirsute; urgency=medium

  * Make two of the wallpapers show up in the chooser:
- Fix the symlink for the greyscale default wallpaper. (LP: #1901353)
- Fix a typo in the name of
  Abstract_Painting_Photo_by_Pierre_Châtel-Innocenti.jpg. There was a
space instead of an underscore. (LP: #1901367)
  * Add Groovy's default coloured wallpaper to d/copyright

  [ Description ]

I forgot to update the symlink for the greyscale default gorilla

  [ Fix ]

  Fix the symlink.

  [ QA ]

Right click on the desktop, ideally on a clean system so you don't
have other clutter. Pick "Change Background...". See that the
  greyscale groovy wallpaper isn't there.

Install the SRU and check that it now appears and becomes selected.

  [ Regression potential ]

The code in Settings checks that the wallpaper exists before showing
it. So if you can see it it must be there - there's no chance you can
set a wallpaper which simply won't work via this UI.

Thinking laterally, it might be considered a regression if this
wallpaper is inappropriate in some way - like the resolution is too
low, or it renders badly for another reason. Make sure it looks right,
since this is the first time it's getting shown.

  [ Original description ]

The sym link still links to the nonexistent Focal greyscale wallpaper.

2020-11-04 Thread Iain Lane
The package in groovy-proposed is a no-change backport of
20.10.3-0ubuntu1.

But nevertheless, I've verified the fix with 20.10.3-0ubuntu0.20.10.1
installed now. The grey gorilla appears fine.

2020-11-02 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Hey everyone! Thank you for your verification. The version numbers in
the validation comments makes me a bit confused - the groovy SRU is
20.10.3-0ubuntu0.20.10.1, even though all verification seems to have
been done on 20.10.3-0ubuntu1? Which packages have been tested on groovy
in that case?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1901353] Re: Ubuntu Default Greyscale Wallpaper Sym Link Broken

2020-10-28 Thread Iain Lane
Sorry, we don't do that. The current default greyscale wallpaper only is
shown there, and this happens via ubuntu-wallpapers.xml. The reason is
that we found that if we show them all (if you have multiple ubuntu-
wallpapers-* installed) then it's very hard to tell between the
different wallpapers, they all look quite similar when shrunk to the
small size in the wallpaper selector.

So if you can see the default grey wallpaper in Settings at all, then
that's good for us.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1901353] Re: Ubuntu Default Greyscale Wallpaper Sym Link Broken

2020-10-26 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Hello NP, or anyone else affected,

Accepted ubuntu-wallpapers into groovy-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-
wallpapers/20.10.3-0ubuntu0.20.10.1 in a few hours, and then in the
-proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
groovy to verification-done-groovy. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-groovy. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1901353] Re: Ubuntu Default Greyscale Wallpaper Sym Link Broken

2020-10-26 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package ubuntu-wallpapers - 20.10.3-0ubuntu1

---
ubuntu-wallpapers (20.10.3-0ubuntu1) hirsute; urgency=medium

  * Make two of the wallpapers show up in the chooser:
- Fix the symlink for the greyscale default wallpaper. (LP: #1901353)
- Fix a typo in the name of
  Abstract_Painting_Photo_by_Pierre_Châtel-Innocenti.jpg. There was a
space instead of an underscore. (LP: #1901367)
  * Add Groovy's default coloured wallpaper to d/copyright

Ubuntu Default Greyscale Wallpaper Sym Link Broken

Bug description:
  [ Description ]

I forgot to update the symlink for the greyscale default gorilla
wallpaper and so it doesn't show up in the wallpaper chooser.

  How to reproduce:

Try to set the wallpaper to the default greyscale in Settings.
