Thanks, so yes it seems the session is going away without error logged there, it would probably require someone from the Ubuntu MATE team to provide hints on how to increase the session debugging level. If, as you wrote in the bug description, you reproduce it when logging in with your uername and password, then this bug is not related to bug 1593407, which is about the "guest session" (that is the session for those users who don't have a login in the machine). There appears to be something wrong with the user session. Are you using Wayland or Xorg?
