Public bug reported: On a freshly installed Bionic system our DesignJet T120 is auto-detected as a driverless IPP printer as soon as it is switched on, and I can directly select it as the printer to use in print dialogs.
On Focal and later it is not auto detected anymore (also tried with fresh installations), it is found when using "Add printer" in the printer settings, but no matter which of the provided driver options I use I can't make the printer print anything. See also this earlier forums post, without which I'd probably never have figured what was wrong in the first place, so that I for now at least can use the printer via a Bionic VM: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2450952 ** Affects: hplip (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to hplip in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1999546 Title: HP DesignJet T120 walks flawlessly with Bionic, but not Focal or Jammy Status in hplip package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: On a freshly installed Bionic system our DesignJet T120 is auto- detected as a driverless IPP printer as soon as it is switched on, and I can directly select it as the printer to use in print dialogs.
