[Desktop-packages] [Bug 249208] Re: Change Nice to Priority in System Monitor
I've just read the bug at the Gnome bugtracker, the bug description is critically different from this one - it does not request to _incorrectly_ mark 'nice' as 'priority', but asks for adding another, text based value of 'priority' or replacing nice values with it completely by default. Nice is not the same as priority - first of all, it could only be named reverse priority. Moreover, there IS a 'priority' numeric value which is only indirectly connected to the nice value and priority names as in windows (start 'top' and you'll see it). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-system-monitor in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/249208 Title: Change Nice to Priority in System Monitor Status in The GNOME System Monitor: In Progress Status in “gnome-system-monitor” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor In GNOME System Monitor, it has a column called Nice. * http://www.watchingthenet.com/wp-content/uploads/image/ubuntusysmonitor4.png Nice comes from command 'nice'; * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nice_(Unix) However, the term Nice doesn't tell a user who don't know it, anything.
