Title:
Password box greyed out connecting to a hidden wirless network

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

Connecting to a hidden SSID network can take a long time in Ubuntu 9.10 and
sometimes even fail.
I have configued the hidden SSID network in the gnome-network-admin tool, and
when it does auto connect it works fine, however if it doesn't auto connect (5
+ minutes) I have to use the left click option connect to hidden wireless
network

When this happens a dialog pops up allowing me to select the SSID
network I'd like to connect to - keep in mind mine is pre-configured.

when I select my pre-configured SSID network from the available drop
down list. the password box is blank, stopping it from connecting. The
password entry field and connect button is greyed out so there is no
way to then enter a password and connect.

I have attatched images to illustrate.

the auto connect problem has been a problem since 9.04, now in 9.10
the problem is worse and I can't do a work around anymore.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 503946] Re: Password box greyed out connecting to a hidden wirless network

2012-02-24 Thread Matt Darcy
I suggest closing this bug as it was logged in 2009 - the bug is now
almost 3 years old.

I've not seen this bug in ubuntu 10.04 so it's reasonable to assume the
issue has been resolved and I'm not going to go back to install 9.04 to
start trouble shooting this now.

I'd suggest closing the call as a dead issue.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 503946] Re: Password box greyed out connecting to a hidden wirless network

2012-02-23 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Right, that's not seahorse-related in any way.

Matt, can you please confirm that the exact issue you're describing is
that the network doesn't autoconnect?

This is then supplemented by the fact that the password dialog is broken
(doesn't allow entering required values).

I think the latter is probably fixed in a later Ubuntu release (please
confirm if possible); the former still tends to be an issue, and largely
depends on the type of wireless hardware being used.

I'll mark this Incomplete until we can clarify this part; the best would
be if we could separate each different issue in its own bug report to
tackle each of them independantly.

Thanks!
