[Desktop-packages] [Bug 843301] Re: Wishlist: Full path (or partial path) in Nautilus tab-titles
** Changed in: nautilus Status: Unknown = Won't Fix ** Changed in: nautilus Importance: Unknown = Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/843301 Title: Wishlist: Full path (or partial path) in Nautilus tab-titles Status in Nautilus: Won't Fix Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: I wish that I could configure Naituls tab-titles to contain the full path, or the right-most portion of the path (if the path is too long). Instead of Documents, I would prefer the tab to say ~/Documents/ or /home/lukescharf/Documents/ or ...arf/Documents/ As a long-time Unix user who is trying to use Unity and trying to use Nautilus for serious file-management for the first time (I used to always use bash), the tabs just don't look like they have anything to do with the filesystem if they don't have some slashes in them. I understand that users who don't have years of shell experience under their belts probably prefer existing tab-title format. Having this be an option buried in the Nautilus preferences seems like a good way to split the difference. I really do like the way nautilus browses with the horizontal stack of directory-buttons. Despite its lack of slashes, it looks like a filesystem to me, and it looks like it should do pretty well in usability trials. But I can't figure out a way to make that into a tab-title. If anyone does figure out a way to do this, it would be the perfect way to address the issue that I'm thinking about. And maybe I'll learn to look for the existing tabs-titles over time. This is a low priority issue, even on the wishlist, but I still thought it was worth mentioning.
