Here are testing steps 0. Link machine with external monitor via D-sub 1. Clean install oneiric 2. sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get dist-upgrade 3. reboot and testing Fn+F3 and the behaviour is mirror mode - mirror mode - internal only - external only 4. sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ayan/gnome-settings-daemon 5. sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get dist-upgrade 3 packages update: gnome-desktop3-data gnome-settings-daemon libgnome-desktop-3-2 the version is 3.2.1-0ubuntu1.3~ayan1 6. reboot and testing Fn+F3 and the behaviour is when hit Fn+F3, the unity dash appear or disappear always, and video mode is not changed. The g-s-d xrandr plugin has been heavily refactored.
