*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 861268 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/861268 I don't know if it can help, but I have noticed that the problem shows up in gnome-terminal while it does not in terminator. On my machine, the problem in gnome-terminal was present both with the nuveau driver and NVIDIA proprietary driver version 173. Driver version-current seemed to fix the problem.
