Title:
  software-center add Fix broken packages

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
With the omission of Synaptic in 11.10, though Synaptic is available,
the ability to fix broken packages isn't available out of the box. I
understand from an ideal programming and usage point of view broken
packages shouldn't exist, however in the real application these
problems do arise. Software centre has improved to i believe the best
software manager however it needs to have all the functionality of
Synaptic and should have had it prior to the omission of Synaptic from
  the latest release.
