Title:
rhythmbox power manager plugin doesn't show up in plugins dialog

Status in rhythmbox package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  ubuntu 11.10,
  rhythmbox 2.90.1~20110908-0ubuntu1.1

Rhythmbox should prevent suspension when music is playing, if power-
manager plugin is enabled. Even though rhythmbox-plugins is installed
on my laptop and power-manager is found in /usr/lib/rhythmbox/plugins/
, I cannot enable power manager in rhythmbox because the relative
entry is not listed in the edit plugins dialog. Thus the system
goes to sleep even when rhythmbox is playing. I tried enabling it
through gconf-editor, but it is not effective.

  ProblemType: Bug
  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10
  Package: rhythmbox 2.90.1~20110908-0ubuntu1.1

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 912912] Re: rhythmbox power manager plugin doesn't show up in plugins dialog

2014-04-25 Thread fossfreedom
This is an invalid bug - the powermanager plugin is supposed to be
hidden.

Note - look at the upstream code. The plugin is BuiltIn which means -
part of the core capability and should not be exposed to users.

If you want this changed, this really needs to be pushed upstream to
rhythmbox-bugzilla.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 912912] Re: rhythmbox power manager plugin doesn't show up in plugins dialog

2014-04-22 Thread hackel
Confirming this issue is still present on Rhythmbox 3.0.2-0ubuntu1.
Power Manager does not appear in the UI in the list of plugins, but the
files are still present in the package at /usr/lib/rhythmbox/plugins
/power-manager. When I start Rhythmbox, I do get the following relevant
debug message:

[rb_gpm_plugin_init] rb-power-manager-plugin.c:72: RBGPMPlugin
initialising

2014-04-14 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect bug # and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

2012-10-25 Thread hackel
Still present with Rhythmbox 2.96-0ubuntu4.2 on 12.04. Can anyone check
on 2.97-1ubuntu5 on 12.10? I am currently using caffeine to pause power
management manually, but an automatic solution would be ideal,
especially since it is supposed to exist!
