[Desktop-packages] [Bug 936045] Re: [armhf] gnome-language-selector crashed with SIGSEGV

2012-03-10 Thread Alex. K.
Chris - a question for you
Did you manually change the file /etc/security/limits.conf ? (or something in
/etc/security ?)
maybe :) adding or uncommenting a line like

*   softstack   256

?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 936045] Re: [armhf] gnome-language-selector crashed with SIGSEGV

2012-03-10 Thread Chris B
/etc/security/limits.d/90-stack.conf contained * soft stack 256
Must have added it after reading
http://www.altechnative.net/2012/01/04/alleviating-memory-pressure-on-toshiba-ac100/
After a reboot, gnome-language-selector now runs correctly.
Thanks Alex!

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 936045] Re: [armhf] gnome-language-selector crashed with SIGSEGV

2012-03-09 Thread Chris B
I still get a Segmentation Fault when running gnome-language-selector on an
AC100 armhf, with updates applied as of 8 March 2012.
Remove/reinstall of language-selector-gnome does not fix the issue, and also
pulls in several large packages of Thai, Khmer, Lao and Korean fonts that
perhaps should not be part of the default install?

Unfortunately the back trace is still not very useful, but I just
realized that this looks ARM specific. So this needs to be reproduced
and debugged on an armhf machine anyway.
