** Tags added: derivatives -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/939882 Title: Installing gnome-control-center installs Unity Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: In Ubuntu Precise, gnome-control-center package recommends gnome- session package, which depends on Unity. Despite its name, gnome- session package is not even related to GNOME - it ships configuration files for Unity session, and the actual gnome-session binary is in gnome-session-bin package. So right now gnome-control-center effectively recommends Unity, which is probably not the intended behavior. In addition, it's hard to make a derivative distro with GNOME but without Unity this way.
