Title:
Change label of 'set up broadcast account'

Status in Ayatana Design:
  New
Status in The Messaging Menu:
  Incomplete
Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete
Status in “indicator-messages” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  https://lists.launchpad.net/unity-design/msg08818.html

  -

The option for setting up accounts like facebook is disturbing. The term
broadcast account is not clear for new user.
We should replace 'broadcast' with 'social network'

This was pointed out in a Canonical's user study about the top
  showstoppers for new users:

  http://design.canonical.com/2010/06/when-new-users-first-encounter-
  ubuntu-5-show-stoppers/

  3. Use of jargon

During their exploration of Ubuntu, participants encountered words
they didn’t know, or didn’t expect, or terms that they had no use for:
examples included ‘Gwibber’,’broadcast’,’terminal’ and ‘server’. “You
lose me with ‘terminal’ and ‘server’.” one person said.

The use of such specialised language significantly influenced how
users perceived the brand and the intended audience for Ubuntu. Some
of the participants wondered whether Ubuntu was meant really for
expert users rather than for them.

2012-03-26 Thread Nekhelesh Ramananthan
I think this requires design decision from the ayatana team. Hence
marking incomplete until further feedback from the design team. Also we
need a UIFe exception since it involves string change.
