[Desktop-packages] [Bug 969548] Re: Nautilus crashes by opening two or mode tabs
We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) reached end-of-life on May 9, 2013. Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported in a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do and in which version otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time. Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better. Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 969548] Re: Nautilus crashes by opening two or mode tabs
Hi, Vadim Sorry to disappoint you in this point, but at the time I wrote the description of this bug Nautilus did _not_ crash. The description was only a summary of what I experienced before ... many times! Therefor this crash file (as I assume) will not be of any value to you, picturing only a PC that runs well, while the respective crash occured hours or days before. One thing I forgot in my report: After all Nautilus instances once have vanished, all it takes to go back to 'normal' is: to start one (!) new instance of Nautilus ... and - Bingo! - the missing icons on the desktop reappear, and everything is fine again. I hope this will help you a little bit. If you have any other question please feel free to send me an eMail at any time, I will try to answer it as good as I can. with regards from Austria Adolf Hochhaltinger III. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 969548] Re: Nautilus crashes by opening two or mode tabs
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/969548 Title: Nautilus crashes by opening two or mode tabs Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: After opening a new folder in a new tab nautilus needs always a few seconds to collect all data of this new directory (cursor shows rotating symbol during this time).
