[Desktop-packages] [Bug 996939] Re: NetworkManager after resume from suspend/hibernate should revert to last (not default) connection

2012-05-22 Thread Zone
Totally agree!
I try to write script /etc/pm/sleep.d/00restoreNetworkManagerconnection, but it
doesn't work.
tail /var/log/pm-suspend.log shows:

/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/56atd resume suspend:Stopping atd: [ OK ]
[ OK ] atd: [ OK ]
success.
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/55NetworkManager resume suspend:success.
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/49bluetooth resume suspend:not applicable.
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01grub resume suspend:not applicable.
/etc/pm/sleep.d/00restoreNetworkManagerconnection resume suspend:Error:
Connection activation failed: Device not managed by NetworkManager or
unavailable
Returned exit code 4.
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00powersave resume suspend:success.
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00logging resume suspend:success.

as you can see, the script
/etc/pm/sleep.d/00restoreNetworkManagerconnection runs after
/etc/pm/sleep.d/00restoreNetworkManagerconnection in the resume process,
but still there's error show that Device not managed by NetworkManager

Could someone fix it? Thx!

Title:
NetworkManager after resume from suspend/hibernate should revert to
  last (not default) connection

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I have two wired connections: one with a static IP (home) and one with
DHCP (work). The static connection is my default, the automatically
connect box is checked. After resume from suspend/hibernate
NetworkManager always establishes the default connection, even if the
DHCP connection was active before. This means that, at work, I have
to switch the connections after every suspend/resume.

I would be desirable that NetworkManager re-establishes the last
connection - even if this is different from the default one.
