Title:
pulseadio and snd driver top power usage
Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I just installed powertop 2.0
(https://01.org/powertop/blogs/ceferron/2012/powertop-v2.0-release)
and saw that pulseaudio and my sound driver were always consuming
power even when no sound was playing. After muting the sound it did
appear to die down, but I'm not entirely sure about that.
Anyway, lots of power being used by sound when no sound is being
played. That isn't good for my battery.
