wouldnt worry about determining what this means for the vote result
now its already closed, it passes either way.

Re: [VOTE] ActiveMQ Artemis 2.23.1

2022-06-20 Thread Robbie Gemmell
Yep, if it works on the more recent / current karaf release streams
and there is also a workaround for the old no-longer-supported one,
and its also not a regression since 2.23.0, then its definitely not a
blocker to proceeding releasing 2.23.1.

Re: [VOTE] ActiveMQ Artemis 2.23.1

2022-06-20 Thread Jean-Baptiste Onofré
Hi,

That's normal: 4.2.16 is not supported/active anymore, it works fine
with Karaf 4.3.x/4.4.x.

As workaround on Karaf 4.2.x, you can add java.* package in etc/jre.properties.

I agree with Clebert: it's not a regression from Artemis standpoint
and it works fine in Karaf.

Regards
JB

Re: [VOTE] ActiveMQ Artemis 2.23.1

2022-06-19 Thread Clebert Suconic
I don’t think it blocks the release.

Feel free to send a PR but I don’t think this needs to block the release.

It would not be a regression from 2.23.0 either. The release still good.

(Which I should have already closed but I was busy on Friday )

Re: [VOTE] ActiveMQ Artemis 2.23.1

2022-06-19 Thread Benjamin Graf
Hi JB,

I tried to run on the latest Karaf 4.2.16 but starting distro is failing
because it misses java.beans package to resolve. Maybe more java.* packages
hiding.

Regards
Benjamin

I've run the tests against ArtemisNetClient[1] 2.7.0. It's all green.

To make the testing easier, I've created a docker image[2] with the release
candidate binaries. Feel free to use it to run your tests.

I checked things out as follows:
- Verified the signature + checksum files.
- Checked for LICENCE + NOTICE files in the archives.
- Checked licence headers in the source archive by running:
  "mvn apache-rat:check"
- Ran the Qpid JMS main HelloWorld against the broker from the binary
archive on JDK 17.
- Ran the source build and the AMQP integration tests on JDK 17 with:
"mvn clean install -DskipTests && cd tests/integration-tests/ && mvn
-Ptests -Dtest=org.apache.activemq.artemis.tests.integration.amqp.**
test"
