Re: [VOTE] Airflow Providers prepared on January 22, 2024

2024-01-25 Thread Jarek Potiuk
(Elad asked me to take over from here as he is flying tonight)

I am cancelling this vote due to the problem found by Andrey -
https://github.com/apache/airflow/issues/36948#issuecomment-1909664795 -
the problem is that the way logger_name passing and **kwargs handling,
there was a potential of using the hooks in a way that would be breaking
compatibility with past versions of Airflow. We've already reverted
https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/36675 which triggered it and I will
prepare the RC2 for all the providers here that actually had changes from
the previous release (this is the fastest way) with accelerated vote.

Then we will proceed with a better and more backwards-compatible way of
implementing what #36675 aimed to achieve and release the next wave

+1 (binding) checked binary reproduction, licences, signatures, and
checksums.

On my system the binary reproduction check for the source tarball did fail,
but I spot verified the tarball contents are correct. I'm still
investigating, but no reason to hold the release for this.

+1 (binding) - tested my changes, checked binary reproducibility, licences,
signatures, checksums - all looks good.

[VOTE] Airflow Providers prepared on January 22, 2024

2024-01-22 Thread Elad Kalif
Hey all,

I have just cut the new wave Airflow Providers packages. This email is
calling a vote on the release,
which will last for 72 hours - which means that it will end on January 25,
2024 12:10 PM UTC and until 3 binding +1 votes have been received.

Consider this my (binding) +1.

Airflow Providers are available at:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/airflow/providers/

*apache-airflow-providers--*.tar.gz* are the binary
Python "sdist" release - they are also official "sources" for the provider
packages.

*apache_airflow_providers_-*.whl are the binary
 Python "wheel" release.

The test procedure for PMC members is described in
https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/main/dev/README_RELEASE_PROVIDER_PACKAGES.md#verify-the-release-candidate-by-pmc-members

The test procedure for and Contributors who would like to test this RC is
described in:
https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/main/dev/README_RELEASE_PROVIDER_PACKAGES.md#verify-the-release-candidate-by-contributors

Public keys are available at:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/airflow/KEYS

Please vote accordingly:

[ ] +1 approve
[ ] +0 no opinion
[ ] -1 disapprove with the reason

Only votes from PMC members are binding, but members of the community are
encouraged to test the release and vote with "(non-binding)".

Please note that the version number excludes the 'rcX' string.
This will allow us to rename the artifact without modifying
the artifact checksums when we actually release.

The status of testing the providers by the community is kept here:
https://github.com/apache/airflow/issues/36948

The issue is also the easiest way to see important PRs included in the RC
candidates.
Detailed changelog for the providers will be published in the documentation
after the
RC candidates are released.
