Subject: Apache Ambari Meetup on June 27 (6PM-8PM PDT) at San Jose Convention
Center

Hi everyone,

There will be an Apache Ambari Meetup on June 27 (Mon), 6PM-8PM PDT, at San
Jose Convention Center [1].
Note that there's room for only 40-50 people or so. Please sign up in advance
to secure your spot!

This is a free event - you do not need a pass for Hadoop Summit, even though
it's at the same venue.

We have 2 hours, so we can have a number of speakers based on how many are
interested in presenting.
If you would like to present at this Meetup, please let me know directly or
thru the dev mailing list.

Thanks, and hope to see many of you there!
Yusaku

Adding new utility scripts to "contrib" folder under the root ambari dir

2016-06-21 Thread Di Li
Hello folks,

I understand this is really a novice question. My question is: Should I add the
scripts to the contrib folder (as a sub-project) if I would like to include
some Python scripts that end users can use?

I would like to build a script that user can run manually for host checks prior
to blueprint install. I wonder if I should create a project under the contrib
dir and put the scripts there. I can't figure out a proper location in Ambari
to include this type of utility scripts.

Thank you .
Di

Re: Add host using REST API

2016-06-21 Thread Alejandro Fernandez
Hi Amruta,

If the agent is still heartbeating, it will reinsert itself into the hosts
and hoststate tables.
Deleting a host does remove it from those, plus a handful of other tables
like clusterhostmapping.

Thanks,
Alejandro
