 Subject: IvyDE 2.1.0 Release

The final IvyDe 2.1.0 release has been re-built. This build includes the
optional XML editor manifest. Also, the jars I signed previously that had
the short PGP key have been resigned with my new longer key and the new key
has been added to the ant keystore.

You can download the distribution from this URL:
 http://people.apache.org/~jschneider/ivyde-2.1.0/

And a staging update site has been setup here:
 http://people.apache.org/~jschneider/staging/updatesite/

Unfortunately I've found a few issues:

- your PGP key doesn't seem to be in
  http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/ant/antlibs/common/trunk/KEYS - you
should add it and update the common subdir of Ant's dist directory
  once it is in.

- you shouldn't use .tgz but rather tar.gz as extension. At least
people.apache.org doesn't seem to set the correct MIME type or
something, at least the things I've downloaded using Firefox on
Windows were unusable. wget on Linux worked fine.

- hmm, the ZIPs don't look much better on FF + winXP either. Might by
  FF or my proxy.
  Anyway, don't use .tgz ;-)

- Copyright in NOTICE should be 2010

I'm not sure how critical the copyright year issue really is, the other
points can either be addressed independently (KEYS) or with the next
release.

Hello Jon,

I tried to install the plugin by copying the 2 jar files inside my
Eclipse on Mac and IvyDe does not seem to be recognized.

I have this build of Eclipse : Build id: 20090920-1017.

I guess I need to install other plugins before.

In the feature.xml of ivyde, the update site is :
http://ant.apache.org/ivy/ivyde/updatesite

but in the online doc [1] it is currently :
http://www.apache.org/dist/ant/ivyde/updatesite

Re: IvyDE 2.1.0 Release

2010-03-19 Thread Antoine Levy Lambert

Hi,

I managed to get ivyde 2.1 in my eclipse only after having installed 2.0
from the update site. Is it supposed to be that way ?

What I did is :

- I copied the ivyde 2.1 plugin and the feature jar to the plugins and
features directory of eclipse,

then I restarted Eclipse, but the ivyde plugin did not seem to be
recognized,

- I installed ivyde 2.0.0.final from the update web site, restarted
eclipse, this pulled in a large number of dependencies and worked,

- then I was still not seeing ivyde 2.1 in the installed plugins,

- then I uninstalled ivyde 2.0.0 from Eclipse using Eclipse's dialog boxes

- then restarted eclipse again,

- then hooray I saw ivyde 2.1 listed in the installed plugins.

I have checked only that I can see the ivy editor.

If it stays difficult to install like that in Eclipse, then there will
be a lot of support calls once the software is released.

Now maybe I did not do the expected manipulation ?

Regards,

Antoine
