[api-dev] Newbie questions: Use Java instead of Basic for event handling?

Hi,
  Is it possible to have Java Listeners and respond to events in Writer? I 
suspect the answer is
Yes. If so, can someone please point me to an example. I do not want to use 
Basic mainly because
the IDE dose not give word completion advice.

  Appreciate the help. If this is not the correct forum for such questions 
please let me know.
