Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Avro 1.9.1 RC2

2019-08-28 Thread Driesprong, Fokko
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I would like to include this into
1.9.1 as well.

Canceling the RC2, and I'll come up with RC3 in the afternoon.

Cheers, Fokko

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Avro 1.9.1 RC2

2019-08-28 Thread Ryan Skraba
(non-binding!) +1

I tested on some internal code as well as some Java-based projects we
use that depend on Avro 1.9.0: parquet and avro4s (which does some fun
scala macro stuff on top of the Avro API). Unit tests OK.

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Avro 1.9.1 RC2

2019-08-28 Thread Ismaël Mejía
Hello,

I would like to bring the attention to
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AVRO-2531
They discovered a CVE that allows to do a DoS via commons-compress.
Due that this is a 'core' dependency for us. I think we should
probably do an extra RC to include this one.

WDYT?

[ ] +1 Release this as Apache Avro 1.9.1
[ ] -1 Do not release this because...

Consider this a +1 (binding) from my side:
* Compiled against Divolte collector and Iceberg
* Checked the licenses using `mvn verify`
