Brooklyn 1.1.0 Release

All,
I've got a bit of free time this week and it looks like at least a few folk
think that doing a release is a good idea.  So I'll start going through the
process of preparing a release as documented here [1] and we can do a
formal release vote once we have a candidate.
I'll update this thread with any progress I make.
