Apache Flex. IMO, we want to be the choice for new programmers as well as experienced programmers. Full disclosure: Justin and Harbs and I are all on the PMC. Not sure what kind of impression we left on the Sharan thread, but I honestly don't think I've seen any improper behavior toward someone based on some demographic attribute. -Alex

ASF as a general idea is great, but it's about doing, and that means, at least for me and for many others, doing in particular projects. In practice, this means it might help (read: probably will, but not necessarily) focusing on those projects you think cool and (or) know. Also helps to bring out the stalwarts of those who can speak to the virtues and excitements of their projects. And Apache has a lot of those and that's to its credit. Good points. Unfortunately, the projects in which I'm currently active are not very beginner-friendly. Could people suggest a few projects that would benefit from, and be able to use, relatively inexperienced programmers right now? Patricia

RE: Guidance for Contribution in Apache foundation
Start on our newcomers page. It should answer most of your general questions. See http://community.apache.org/newcomers/ If you have specific questions about the foundation this is the place to ask. If you find a project your are interested in after reading the above pages then you can ask your questions within that community (guidance in the above pages) > -Original Message- > From: Ravi Kant Sharma [mailto:ravi.mca...@gmail.com] > Sent: Saturday, May 21, 2016 8:04 AM > To: dev@community.apache.org > Subject: Guidance for Contribution in Apache foundation > > Hi, > > Please guide me to contribute for Apache foundation. > > -- > *Thanks & Warm Regards,* > Ravi Kant Sharma > Mob: 9958090099

Re: Base for presentation
Hi Patricia, I've given some talks on this that are not specific to woman but might be useful [1][2]. I'd be happy to discuss any of the details of the presentation directly. - Bob [1] http://events.linuxfoundation.org/sites/events/files/slides/ApacheWayFIRST.pdf [2] http://schd.ws/hosted_files/apachecon2016/63/Recruiting%20for%20Apache.pdf On 5/21/2016 9:41 AM, Patricia Shanahan wrote: In connection with the "Encouraging More Women into Participate in Apache Projects?"
